Yeehaw, y’all!

Red Fest, a three-day, outdoors-focused event backed by comedian Jeff Foxworthy, is set to take place at Circuit of the Americas May 23-25.

Foxworthy was in town Wednesday, offering up details on the event, which will feature performances by big-name comedians and country music acts, as well as opportunities to shop and hunting and fishing expos.

Red Fest is believed to be the first event of its kind in the nation, Foxworthy said.

“It’s going to feel like a Southern Disneyland,” he said during a visit to Stubb’s. “I envision it as a festival meets a fair meets a flea market.”

Organizers say they expect about 100,000 people to attend over the course of three days. General admission tickets starting at $99 apiece will go on sale Dec. 13 at 10 a.m. at and

On-site camping will be available, according to Circuit of the Americas.

“When I’m not working, I’m an outdoors guy,” said Foxworthy, who calls the Atlanta area home. “Red Fest puts together all the things I love in one weekend.”

A host of activities for both adults and children are planned, including a go-kart course, ziplines, dodgeball, horseshoes, mechanical bull rides, washers and more.

“It might sound a little redneck, but it’s happening Memorial Day weekend, so it’s also a little red, white and blue,” Foxworthy said. “I love this country.”

Planning for Red Fest started about two years, according to Foxworthy. When he began searching for just the right spot to host the event, Austin – and specifically Circuit of the Americas – immediately came to mind, he said.

“I’ve always loved Austin,” Foxworthy said. “Austin’s one of my favorite cities in the entire world. If I didn’t live in Atlanta, I’d probably live here.”
