California-born folk singer Cass McCombs’ wandering spirit doesn’t let him stay in one place for long the performer has traveled widely, and recorded tracks in studios all over the country over the course of his decade-long career.

Though his poetic music tends toward alt-country and Americana, McCombs has experimented with a number of different genres on the seven full-length albums he’s recorded, starting with 2003’s “A.” McCombs’ tour brings him through Austin on Friday, Nov. 22 for a show at the Belmont, where he’ll be playing older songs as well as tunes from his most recent album, “Big Wheel and Others.”
