The Austin Business Journal reports that Antone’s is going ahead with plans to relocate the club back downtown. The club’s New Year’s Eve show featuring Doyle Bramhall II and a host of other local faves will be the last event to take place in Antone’s current East Riverside location.

The ABJ reports that a handful of previously scheduled gigs have been removed from the club’s Web site. Some of the gigs, booked by C3 Presents, have been moved next door to Emo’s. Others are up in the air.

The new Antone’s team has not disclosed any potential sites for the club’s new downtown location. ABJ reports GrindHouse, the dance club operating out of the former Emo’s space on Red River has put in an application for a liquor license throwing shade on the speculation that the storied blues club was angling for that location.
