Brian Jonestown Massacre, Panda Bear added to Psych Fest

Brian Jonestown Massacre, Panda Bear, Dandy Warhols and The War on Drugs are among the 32 new names added Tuesday to the lineup for the seventh annual Austin Psych Fest May 2-4 at Carson Creek Ranch.

The festival also announced that Primal Scream has canceled its previously scheduled appearance, along with the rest of its national tour.

A pair of kickoff shows will be held downtown on Thursday, May 1, at the Mohawk and Red 7, with artists including the Warlocks, Night Beats, Indian Jewelry, Elephant Stone, Golden Animals and Holy Wave.

Previously announced acts include the Zombies, Black Lips, Loop, Of Montreal and Unknown Mortal Orchestra, along with local hosts the Black Angels. Monday’s additions bring the total number of acts announced to 79, up from 64 acts booked last year. Tickets, ranging from $80 for a single-day pass to $878 for deluxe three-day camping rentals, are on sale via
