About the band: The three-man Native Canadian (First Nation) DJ crew mixes traditional pow wow drums and chanting with hip-hop, reggae and electronic sounds. In their hometown of Ottawa they host regular Electric Pow Wow parties, showcasing the talents of fellow First Nation singers, drummers and dancers. Their live shows produce an exhilarating mixture of ancient and future sounds and the buzz around the group has been steadily growing. They’ve spent the past couple years touring extensively in North America and abroad. Their SXSW 2013 set at the Swan Dive was 45 minutes of pure electrifying insanity. Hands down one of the best things I saw all week.
