Seattle grunge pioneers Soundgarden have been added to the iTunes Festival happening at ACL Live during the South by Southwest Music Festival. The band announced via Twitter this morning that they will play the album “Superunknown” back to front during the event, commemorating the twentieth anniversary of the album that was released in 1994.
The iTunes festival runs for five days from March 11-15. Soundgarden joins previously announced headliners Coldplay, Pitbull and Keith Urban. It is not clear which day Soundgarden will play and there is still one festival headliner spot unannounced. To gain access to the iTunes Festival, SXSW badgeholders will need to enter a ticket drawing. More details are available on the SXSW Website.
