Austin City Limits – the TV-show original, not the festival-come-lately – heads into its 40th season of tapings next month at ACL Live with an April 14 performance by Los Lobos, the Grammy-winning East Los Angeles band’s fifth time on the show.

Also on the books for 2014 are four artists making their first ACL appearance: Valerie June (May 28), Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds (July 20), Thao & the Get Down Stay Down (Aug. 14) and Eric Church (Sept. 23).

More tapings will be added in the weeks ahead. The episodes begin airing on PBS in the fall. Some of them will be live-streamed as they happen, though ACL hasn’t announced which ones yet. Details on how to get tickets to the tapings, along with updates about which shows will be streamed and additional tapings when they’re added, can be found at acltv.com.

Nick Cave also plays a ticketed show at ACL Live on July 19, the night before his taped show, with opener Nicole Atkins. It’s already sold out.
