Berkshire Hounds at the Hole in the Wall. A group of snotty upstarts with plenty of talent and attitude to spare, the Dallas natives were pegged band of the year going into free week back in January by Holy Mountain manager James Taylor. Their 2013 release “Are Not Amused” is a sprawling record based in solid rock ‘n’ roll that ambles through unexpected turns of credible hip-hop and jazz. Their free week show at Holy Mountain on one of the coldest days of the year was a bit stilted, but even then the band showed massive potential. When they went big with the sound, fully engaging both guitars and the horn section, they were very, very good. 2538 Guadalupe St. holeinthewallaustin.wordpress.com. —Deborah Sengupta Stith
