Tyler, the Creator did not incite a riot at South By Southwest 2014, the rapper’s attorney Perry Q. Minton said in a statement released to the Associated Press this morning. Disputing reports from the Austin police department and Spin Magazine’s Garett Kamps who was at the Scoot Inn during the day party when the incident took place, Minton said Tyler did not “participate in riotous activity.” Instead, Minton said, a group of fans full of “full of positive energy appropriate for this type of event” simply entered the capacity crowd to take part in the “boisterous activity” associated with the rapper’s show.

“Tyler is not a violent individual,” Minton said in the statement. ” And would never deliberately engage in any activity that would put another person at risk of being hurt.”

Because, yeah, Odd Future has never been associated with riots or violence.
