Tickets go on sale May 1 for a June 3 Austin date at the ND by European free jazz sax legend Peter Brötzmann and his most incendiary rhythm section, bassist William Parker and drummer Hamid Drake, their the first Austin concert since 2003.

Brötzmann was here last June with Joe McPhee and Sept. 2012 with Jason Adasiewicz.

All three men are veterans of the international avant-garde jazz scene as leaders and sidemen and have played on each other’s records for decades.

The Drake and Brötzmann duo double-LP “Solid And Spirt” (Nero’s Neptune) appeared last year, while a 2010 set with Drake, Parker and trombone player Conny Bauer was released as “Tender Exploration” (Jazzwerkstatt), also in 2013.

Parker and Brötzmann played together for years in Brötzmann’s Tentet.

This will sell out.
