Kelly Willis & Bruce Robison at Waterloo Records. Last year’s “Cheater’s Game” was one of the best country records of 2013, not just in Austin but anywhere. Long successful apart — Willis for her tasteful song choices and spectacular voice, Robison as a hitmaking songwriter for many big-time artists — these two create magic together that’s more than the sum of its parts. The new “Our Year” feels a little more off-the-cuff than its predecessor, but it’s another clear winner, pairing Robison originals with cool covers of tunes by the likes of T Bone Burnett, Walter Hyatt and the Zombies. As good as their collaborations have been, it’s not easy raising four kids with both parents on the road, so expect Willis and Robison to scale back to solo projects in the near future. Catch them together while you can. (Read more about their record and this week’s other local releases here.) Free. 5 p.m. 600 N. Lamar Blvd. waterloorecords.com. — P.B.
