Between the Buried and Me at the Mohawk outdoor. No surprise that this North Carolina prog-metal outfit took its name from … a Counting Crows song? Somehow they’ve survived such a metalhead indignity to record more than a half-dozen albums in their 14-year tenure, gradually climbing the ladder from overseas label to prominent indie Victory Records and finally to major affiliate Metal Blade, which released their two-part concept EP and LP pair “The Parallax.” Bassist Dan Briggs also plays in their labelmate Trioscapes, a jazz-fusion outfit that opens the show. $20. 7:30 p.m. 912 Red River St. — P.B.
