John Fullbright, Butch Hancock and Michael Fracasso at the Cactus Cafe. From Hancock’s 1970s-’80s heyday to Fracasso’s accomplishments in the 1990s-2000s and on through Fullbright’s ascension in the current decade, the three songwriters taking part in this high-end guitar-pull cover a lot of Americana history. Oklahoma visitor Fullbright, who’ll also be at Waterloo Records for a 5 p.m. in-store to promote his acclaimed new disc “Songs,” is the hot ticket here, but even with his prodigious talent, he’s still looking up to Hancock, the dean of Texas troubadours. Fracasso seems overlooked at times, but the stuff he recorded with Charlie Sexton remains some of the most evocative folk-pop Austin has produced. $25-$30. 8 p.m. 2247 Guadalupe St. cactuscafe.org. — P.B.
