Did you know that it’s the 190th day of the year? No, of course you didn’t. But now that you do know, take note of a couple things:

  1. There are 175 days left in 2014. Finish that macrame project, or shed those pounds, or complete whatever symbolic task you set for yourself in January.
  2. We passed the halfway mark of the year a few days ago.

You’re on your own for the arts and crafts, but Team 360 can help commemorate No. 2. In honor of making it to the middle of the year, we gladly present this week’s playlist: Stuck In the Middle, dedicated to all things between two extremes.

First things first: Cookie commercial classic “Stuck In The Middle With You” by Stealers Wheel kicks things off by getting stuck in your head. After a couple songs from The Replacements and Mika comes the other track this theme is likely to bring to mind, “The Middle” by Jimmy Eat World. (Don’t worry, you’ll get to it. It just takes some time.)

We’ve got our metaphor bases covered, too. Metaphorically. Does anything say “stuck in the middle” better than a love triangle? New Order, Nelly and Kelly Rowland would argue no.

To find out what artist earned the coveted midway point in the playlist — The Cure? Bobby Womack? The Pretenders? — you will just have to listen. Austin360’s Stuck In the Middle playlist is now on Spotify.

Now, don’t let us down on the macrame thing.
