‘Experience Hendrix’ tour coming to ACL Live this fall

Austin musicians Chris Layton, Doyle Bramhall II and Eric Johnson are part of the “Experience Hendrix” Tour coming to ACL Live this fall for two shows, on Sept. 28 and Sept. 30.

Subtitled “Celebrating the Music and Legacy of Jimi Hendrix,” the tour also includes blues legend Buddy Guy and metal guitarist Zakk Wylde as well as Jonny Lang, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Rich Robinson of the Black Crowes and Mato Nanji of Indigenous. Joining drummer Layton in the rhythm section is bassist Billy Cox, a Hendrix bandmate from 1969-70.

Tickets go on sale Friday, June 20, at 10 a.m. via www.aci-live.com, the ACL Live box office and 877-4FLYTIX. Also going on sale at 10 a.m. Friday are tickets to the Sept. 18 “Renegades of Rhythm” show featuring DJ Shadow and Cut Chemist playing the music of Afrika Bambaaataa.
