Local folk-rock tour de force Alejandro Rose-Garcia a.k.a. Shakey Graves debuted a new single “Dearly Departed” on Esquire today. The song, which features fellow singer-songwriter Esmé Patterson, finds Rose-Garcia lamenting a lost relationship with tight harmonies, stuttering percussion and a catchy hook. The song is the first single off of Shakey Grave’s new album “And The War Came,” due out October 7 on Dualtone Records.

The extensive new tour kicks off Saturday at the Pickathon in Happy Valley, Ore. and will wind all over the United States and Canada for the next four and a half months. Shakey Graves will be back in Austin in time for Halloween. Though he’s a headliner on most of the dates, he opens for Shovels and Rope and Hayes Carll at an Oct. 30 show at Stubb’s. Tickets, which are $25 + fees, are available now and will likely sell out.
