Tuesday music picks: Weezer, Speak
Weezer and Speak at Austin Music Hall. It’s common for long-established rock bands to veer back toward their origins at some point, which may be why Weezer chose to reconnect with Cars frontman Ric Ocasek, who produced two of the band’s first three albums, for their new disc “Everything Will Be Alright in the End.” It seemes to have paid dividends, as the album has been well-received by fans and critics, and reached the top 5 of the charts. Local pop outfit Speak, whose sophomore disc “Pedals” came out this summer, scored big in getting the opening slot on this bill. $42.50. 7 p.m. doors. 208 Nueces St. musichallaustin.com.
