Tuesday music picks: The 1975, SoMo

The 1975 at AMH. The British indie pop outfit has some of the characteristics of a boy band. A group of attractive lads with catchy hooks and adequately floppy hair, they draw screaming teenagers by the thousands. But their music is a far cry from saccharine pop. They have a darkness and depth that even jaded older fans can find satisfying. $30. 7 p.m. doors. 208 Nueces St. c3concerts.com.

Also: Austin-born R&B/pop singer Joseph Anthony Somers-Morales a.k.a. SoMo, who slipped into stardom covering the likes of Chris Brown, Drake and Weeknd on YouTube, brings his Wide Awake Tour to Emo’s. … A late add to the Waterloo Records agenda is a 5 p.m. in-store with Dead Boys guitarist Cheetah Chrome, who’ll also make a guest appearance with Ghost Wolves on Wednesday at the Mohawk.
