Thursday music picks: The Whiskey Sisters

Peter Blackstock

The Whiskey Sisters’ last show at the Continental Club. On this Thanksgiving Day, be thankful for the three-year run of the Whiskey Sisters, one of Austin’s best roots-country-rock acts in recent memory. Co-leader Teal Collins and guitarist Josh Zee are moving back to California, which means this gig closes out their long run of Thursdays at the Continental. Instead of their usual happy-hour slot, they’ll play at 10 p.m., opening for Dale Watson & His Lone Stars. Collins’ sister in whiskey, Barbara Nesbitt, says she’ll be sticking around Austin and putting a new band together, as well as doing some solo gigs (one is booked for Strange Brew on Jan. 31). $10. 9:30 p.m. 1315 S. Congress Ave.
