A late add to the holiday madness is “That Metal Christmas,” taking place Friday at the old Emo’s location at Sixth and Red River streets. Host Eddie Trunk of VH1 Classic’s “That Metal Show” is joined by Force of Rage, Broken Teeth, Dharma Kings, Armiger and Reptilian. A full schedule and ticket information is at the Texas Rockfest website.

The show might be the start of a new era for the space. Adam Brewer, who runs the Heart of Texas Rockfest during SXSW, confirmed Wednesday that he has tentative plans to present shows there in early 2015. “We’ve been gutting the place out and getting it ready,” Brewer said. “We’re planning on bringing in Hank III and some other bands that helped make Emo’s a landmark.”

No permanent name has been chosen yet, Brewer said, though he’s tentatively referring to it as simply Texas Rock Club.
