Monday music picks: Blonde Redhead, De Lux
Blonde Redhead at the Mohawk. As indie rock bands go, Blonde Redhead has been fairly all over the map, perhaps owing to its 1990s roots in an alt-rock scene that differed somewhat from the modern indie culture. Geographical diversity may have broadened their sound as well: Though they met in New York, singer Kazu Makino was born in Japan, and her twin-brother bandmates Amedeo and Simone Pace are Italian natives who were raised in Montreal. They’re touring behind “Barragan,” their ninth studio album. Dot Hacker opens. 6:30 p.m. doors. $20. 912 Red River St. mohawkaustin.com.
