Ed Sheeran, more tickets on sale

English singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran will launch the 2015 North American leg of his tour at the Erwin Center on May 6, and tickets for the show go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday. In two years’ time, the 24-year-old went from opening for Taylor Swift to headlining a worldwide tour culminating with three sold-out dates at London’s Wembley Stadium and two at Croke Park in Dublin.

A.R. Rahman, an international star from the Eastern hemisphere, will perform in the United States for the first time since 2010. One of 13 scheduled shows is a June 4 performance at Bass Concert Hall, and tickets go on sale at 2 p.m. Friday. The composer, best known for his Academy Award-winning score and songs in “Slumdog Millionaire,” has worked on more than 100 films across over a half-dozen languages.

Twain, Clarkson on the way

• Country-pop crossover superstar Shania Twain will bring her first North American tour in more than a decade to the Erwin Center on Aug. 9.

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. March 13 at, with a presale window at beginning March 10 at 10 a.m. and ending March 12 at 10 p.m.

• The original “American Idol,” Kelly Clarkson, a Texas singer with powerhouse pipes, announced plans for her 2015 Piece by Piece tour. The 36-city run includes a stop at the Austin360 Amphitheater on Aug. 29.

Tickets will be $25-$99 and go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. March 14. Tickets will be available at all Ticketmaster outlets, or at 1-800-745-3000.
