The Planner, Nov. 1: Tickets for the Breeders and Willie Nelson, drinking events and more

Virginia Yapp
Tickets are on sale at 10 a.m. Friday for Kim Deal and her band the Breeders, who will play Dec. 31 at the Mohawk.

The reunited Breeders will be in Austin on New Year’s Eve, performing their classic “Last Splash” at the Mohawk. The appearance is the final date in the band’s tour celebrating the album’s 20th anniversary. Other big announcements? The Beach Boys (sans Brian Wilson), Megadeth and Alejandro Escovedo will all be at ACL Live in coming months (not all on the same bill, of course), and tickets to see Willie Nelson play Nov. 17 ($105) at Gruene Hall went on sale Thursday. On sale Friday:

• The Deep Dark Woods at Stubb’s (Dec. 11)

• Megadeth at ACL Live (Dec. 11)

• Cage the Elephant, J. Roddy Walston at Emo’s (Dec. 13)

• REO Speedwagon at ACL Live (Dec. 13)

• The Breeders at the Mohawk (Dec. 31)

• Alejandro Escovedo at ACL Live (Jan. 11)

• New Politics at Antone’s (Jan. 15)

• The Beach Boys at ACL Live (Jan. 19)

• Futurebirds, Natural Child at the Parish (Feb. 6)

• Dale Earnhardt Jr. at Stubb’s (Feb. 21)

Also worth noting: A second Lord Huron show has been added to the calendar at the Parish, after tickets to the Feb. 18 show sold out quickly. Chali 2na (Jurassic 5) has been added to the list of artists performing Fun Fun Fun Nites shows; see him Nov. 10 at Empire Control Room. Finally, tickets to see Yuck play Feb. 6 at the Mohawk went on sale earlier this week.
