It's officially summer and, of course, Austin has already settled into regular high temperatures in the 90s. Family Eldercare, which provides essential services to seniors, adults with disabilities and caregivers, is once again having its Summer Fan Drive to raise money and collect fans for clients in need.

This week is the popular Fan Fare Friday event at Threadgill's, and people can donate money and drop off fans all day Friday at the South location, 301 W. Riverside Drive.

The live music starts at 8:30 a.m. with a lineup including the Soldier Thread; Nakia; Vallejo; Matt the Electrician; Eric Tessmer; Jon Blondel, Denny Freeman and Frosty; and Saints of Valory. The free music ends at 6:30 p.m. The evening show begins at 9 p.m. Friday and requires tickets ($12-$15). Guns of Navarone, Blackbone Child and the Bluebonnets are on the evening schedule. Starting at 10 p.m., the show will be broadcast on KGSR's "Lonestar State of Mind.", thread
