Cat lovers are getting the film they always asked for this month — 1 hour, 12 minutes of cat videos.

Later this month, a few local theaters will present “CatVideoFest 2020,” a compilation of the latest and best cat videos. AFS Cinema and Violet Crown Cinema in Austin and Sky Cinema in Dripping Springs will hold screenings Feb. 29. Violet Crown also will have screenings March 1.

Screenings raise money for local animal nonprofits. This is the second year AFS Cinema has brought CatVideoFest to the big screen, for example, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting Austin Pets Alive.

CatVideoFest takes the love of feline film to the next level by compiling cat videos (including animation, music videos and viral internet hits), putting them all on a screen for cat enthusiasts to enjoy.

Tickets are now on sale for AFS Cinema, Violet Crown and Sky. Some showings are already sold out, and AFS says last year’s screening sold out completely.
