Northwest Austin theater splits from national chain

A Northwest Austin theater has broken free from a national chain and is now under local management.

The Moviehouse & Eatery, at 8300 N. RM 620 in the Four Points area, is no longer affiliated with California-based Galaxy Theatres, a spokeswoman said Thursday.

The dine-in theater also said it’s planning a second location in the North Texas city of Keller that should open in fall 2014. Additional locations are also being eyed in other Texas towns.
