Austin-shot horror movie hits market with two different names
Director Spencer Parsons Austin-shot horror film “Saturday Morning Massacre” has received distribution, along with a name change. At least in some venues. The movie, which blends humor, gore and psychedelia, hit Best Buy shelves and iTunes recently under the title “Saturday Morning Mystery.” The unsettling spoof on archetypes from “Scooby-Doo” enters Redboxes around the country Tuesday with the original title. Producers said some outlets requested a change to the name following the school shooting tragedy in Newtown, Connecticut.
