Austin does well in Oscar noms
It was a good morning for Austin at the Oscar nominations.
Matthew McConaughey scores a best actor nomination for “Dallas Buyers Club.” He won the Golden Globe as a man with HIV who tries to skirt the law for medical treatments. And Sandra Bullock, the star of “Gravity,” received a best actress nomination.
Austin director Richard Linklater was nominated for best adapted screenplay for “Before Midnight,” which he wrote with Julie Delpy and Ethan Hawke.
And in the documentary category, “Cutie and the Boxer” from Austin director Zachary Heinzerling and “The Act of Killing,” which is being distributed by Austin’s Drafthouse Films, scored nominations.
Congrats to all, and more to come!
