Austin-based casting agency Burton Casting (www.burtoncasting.com) is doing a national search for a 13-to-18-year old Filipino girl who can both act and sing for the feature film “Yellow Rose,” slated to shoot in Texas in early 2015.

In “Yellow Rose,” Austin country singer Dale Watson plays Jimmy Redburn, a down-on-his-luck singer befriends the title character Rose, a 15-year-old Filipino girl who wants to break into the business. Watson will also contribute original music to the soundtrack.

“With the amazing talent right here in Texas, we are hoping to find that diamond in the rough right in our backyard,” casting Directors Brad Burton and Kimberly Williams Burton said in a statement.

Audition dates and exact shoot dates are still being worked our, but auditions for Rose are most likely happening at the end of April or the beginning of May in Austin, Brad Burton said. They are also accepting taped auditions if you do not live in the Texas area. Potential Roses should submit a photo and contact information to Casting Directors Brad Burton, CSA and Kim Williams Burton, CSA at burtoncasting@gmail.com
