Machete does Fantastic Fest

Robert Rodriguez’s “Machete Kills” will make its world premiere Sept. 19 at Alamo Lakeline as the opening night film of the 2013 Fantastic Fest.

The sequel to Rodriguez’s controversial 2010 movie features Danny Trejo as the mysterious ex-Federale agent known as Machete, who, this time around, is recruited by the president of the United States (Charlie Sheen) for a seemingly impossible mission. It opens in theaters Oct. 4.

The world premiere will feature a red carpet with director and stars in attendance. “Machete Kills” is scheduled to open in theaters Oct. 4. Fantastic Fest runs at the new, 10-screen Alamo Drafthouse Lakeline location from Sept. 19 to 26.
