Alamo Slaughter celebrates opening

The Alamo Drafthouse Slaughter Lane celebrates its official opening this weekend with a special set of screenings, including the "Mad Men" premiere on Sunday.

The weekend kicks off today with Master Pancake parodying "Back to the Future" at 7 and 10 p.m.

On Saturday, Ang Lee's adaptation of Jane Austen's "Sense and Sensibility" will screen at 4 p.m., followed by a Ladies of the '80s Sing-Along at 10 p.m.

And on Sunday, the theater is hosting a "Lord of the Rings" trilogy feast, starting at 11 a.m. The "Mad Men" season premiere will be screened at 10 p.m.

Other events:

Monday: Cinema Cocktails, "From Russia With Love," 7 p.m.; "The Thing" (the 1982 version), 10 p.m.

Tuesday: Girlie Night, "Dirty Dancing," 7 p.m.; "Commando," 10 p.m.

Wednesday: "The Thing," 10 p.m.
