Art

“Soaked” at Women and Their Work. In meticulous paintings and watercolors of leaves, rain, mud and other objects in the natural world, artist Mihee Nahm seeks to capture the ephemeral in all its transience. As the present endlessly slips into the past, Nahm’s images forever arrest the fleeting passage of time as it is manifested in nature. Subtle changes in the time of day, the weather and mood capture the artist’s attention. 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday-Friday, noon to 6 p.m. Saturday through Feb. 27. 1710 Lavaca St. womeandtheirwork.org

Music

Masterclass with the Artist: “Everest.” Austin Opera, which recently staged “Everest,” hosts a masterclass allowing University of Texas students to work with an internationally recognized performer. Although participation is limited to selected UT students and Austin Opera chorus members, the general public can attend to see a master of the voice work with singers, touching on subjects of musicality, the mechanics of singing and what it is like to perform on stage. 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Jan. 27. Free. 3009 Industrial Terrace. facebook.com/events/1466246866864939
