The Austin Duck Derby. How about watching rubber ducks instead of bats on the Congress Avenue bridge? At this rubber duck derby benefiting the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Austin Area, Austinites show up in flocks to watch thousands of eco-friendly rubber ducks launching from the iconic bridge. Carly Rae Jepsen at ACL Live. There was a brief moment during the “Call Me Maybe” era when it seemed like the Canadian pop savant might be a one hit wonder. Well, she showed you, haters. Two hot-selling and critically acclaimed collections of candy synth jams later, Jepsen is at the top of her genre. Her new album “Dedicated,” written after a difficult breakup, wraps introspective lyricism in summery earworms like “Party For One,” a defiant ode to single life that’s also a dance floor sizzler.
