Chicken Wing Eating Competition at Nickel City. Don't chicken out, wing and whiskey lovers. Nickel City's inaugural chicken wing-eating competition invites you out to the neighborhood bar on National Buffalo Wing Day, but you won't actually have to participate. Instead, four local bar teams (from Crow Bar, B.D. Riley's Irish Pub, Last Straw and Lustre Pearl on Rainey) will go head-to-wing in an epic battle, while you enjoy 35-cent wings all day long. There will also be Monkey Shoulder and Tullamore DEW cocktails. Noon July 29. Free. 1133 E. 11th St.

Amaro & Chocolate Pairing Night. Dreaming of a night abroad but can’t get away? Come experience a little bit of Italy with this pairing event featuring amaro and chocolate at Intero. Amaro is an Italian liqueur that is often consumed there as a digestif, or after-dinner drink. Chocolate is an easy accompaniment to the range of flavors amari can have. There will be small bites as well, provided by Intero. Produced Les Dames d'Escoffier Austin, the pairing night is open to anyone. 5:30 to 8 p.m July 29. $20-$30. Intero, 2612 E. Cesar Chavez St.

"Art From the Heart & Medulla Oblongata" at Yard Dog Art Gallery. Bruce Lee is a folk-art gallerist (the Webb Gallery in Waxahachie) and an antiques dealer (Uncommon Objects in Austin). In his travels, he collects vintage cotton seed sacks, canvas bags and journal and ledger paper on which he then paints and draws. He has also added to the collection of printed matter with folk art and more. 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday through Aug 31. 1510 S. Congress Ave.

Harry Potter Book Trivia at Growler USA. Would you be prefect-level perfect at trivia focused on the seven "Harry Potter" books? Find out the week of the boy wizard's birthday. Make sure you reserve your team's spot ahead of time via the Eventbrite link. There will be five rounds total, and they just might feel like the Muggle's version of Ordinary Wizarding Levels. Only reserve single tickets if you are playing by yourself; otherwise, elect a team captain to reserve all tickets. 7 to 9 p.m. July 29. Free. 609 W. 29th St.

Shark Week at Little Woodrow's Parmer. One of the most thrilling weeks of television has returned, but you don't need to watch it alone on your couch. Little Woodrow's Parmer location aims to be the place where you watch with friends. Throughout the week, the bar will be showing the Shark Week program and themed movies. (Which probably means you're going to need a bigger boat — er, bar stool.) Enjoy themed cocktails, $3 Land Shark tallboys and games. Ongoing through Aug. 3. Free. 6301 W. Parmer Ln.
