Shark Week Kick-Off Party at Last Straw. In celebration of the return of Discovery Channel's Shark Week, tropical-loving cocktail bar Last Straw hosts an event with proceeds benefiting Period Austin. Sound & Cinema at the Long Center lawn. One of Austin’s most popular summer events, Sound & Cinema pairs beloved films with Texas artists playing live. They’ll perform a musical tribute to the movie before it plays on the Alamo Drafthouse’s giant inflatable outdoor screen. Zilker Summer Musical: Disney's "The Little Mermaid." Zilker Theatre Productions takes us under the sea for its 61st season. The splashy musical adventure is sure to have audiences singing along with favorite Disney songs.
