There's a doughnut-eating contest at Barton Creek mall this week

In this corner: No. 1-ranked competitive eater in the world, Joey Chestnut! And in the other corner: Austin's own Juan Neave, a No. 17-ranked dark horse who has his eye on the throne! And in this other corner over here somewhere: a Cheesecake Factory and a wide selection of affordable plastic bracelets at Claire's!

The second World Hostess Donettes-eating Championship is coming to Austin's Barton Creek Square Mall on June 7, and it's already shaping up to be quite the battle of the powdery powerhouses. Show up to 2901 Loop 360 (S. Capital of Texas Highway) at 12:30 p.m. for the 6-minute competition on National Doughnut Day.

Chestnut (who won the first Donette-eating contest) and Neave (whom we talked to last year as he prepared for a hot dog-eating contest) will face off against No. 3-ranked Geoffrey Esper of Massachusetts, among other doughnut-vacuums.

Last year, Chestnut ate 257 Donettes. But you could probably do that, too, given enough time alone on the couch.
