St. Patrick's Day kicks off another week of free events

St. Patrick's Day at the Draught House. This longtime Austin brewpub might feel like an authentic Irish pub by the end of the night. The Draught House's celebration will have a bagpipes performance, Guinness glass giveaway, Real Ale's Hans Pils dyed green and the Draught House's own Shamrock Stout on special for $3. Plus, Garbo's is providing the fish and chips. 11 a.m. Sunday. 4112 Medical Parkway.


Astronomy on Tap. You can explore the mysteries of the universe while keeping your feet firmly on the ground at this monthly event (while also drinking beer). Among the speakers this month is musician and astronomy lover Jason Achilles, who will talk about the project to design the first microphone on Mars. Astronomy on Tap also will have telescopes so you can look for exciting objects in the night sky, weather permitting. 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. Tuesday. The North Door, 502 Brushy St.

Beers & Board Games at Easy Tiger. Play games like Splendor, Sagrada and King of Tokyo you might never have heard of while enjoying $4 Austin Beerworks Flavor Country, Live Oak Pilz and St. Elmo Carl drafts at the new Easy Tiger location. 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. 6406 N. Interstate 35, Suite 1100.


Date Night at the DAC: Bollywood Nights. Burn off some midweek energy with a date night that isn't your typical dinner and a movie. With your partner, learn high-energy Bollywood dance moves and try them on our dance floor to favorite Bollywood tracks, all while indulging in modern Indian treats. 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Special Talk: Ballet Austin's "Grimm Tales" at the Blanton Museum. Thursdays are free at the art museum, and so is this event. Ballet Austin’s artistic director and choreographer Stephen Mills and Austin native Natalie Frank will discuss their collaboration on the ballet "Grimm Tales," coming to life March 29-31. It was inspired the Blanton’s 2015 exhibition "Natalie Frank: The Brothers Grimm." 6:30 p.m. Thursday. 200 E. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.


Asian Eats Night Market. Inspired by evening street markets throughout Asia, the night market will be organized as a walk through all the regions of this vast continent: the Middle East, South, Southeast and East Asia. Although Asian food will be the highlight, there will also be vendors selling products and more. Saturday Night Concert Series at Hill Country Galleria. Kicking off this weekend is a springtime concert series hosted by Austin City Limits Radio and featuring local favorites like Guy Forsyth, Nakia, Dale Watson and Fastball.
