Winter is coming ... to the Circuit of the Americas. The second annual Winter Wonderland at the Circuit offers a completely new, immersive experience. Look for the Chinese Lantern Festival, a display of illuminated hand-crafted sculptures using a traditional technique. The celebration includes interactive entertainment, “immersing guests with the culture, music, arts, and life of authentic China.” The evening also includes carnival rides, a tunnel of light, the largest outdoor skating rink in Texas and more. — Joe Gross
2. ThunderCloud Subs Turkey Trot

It's been almost 30 years since the inaugural Turkey Trot, a series of races on the morning of Thanksgiving that will give you a head start on working off the coming feast. The Turkey Trot includes a 5-mile run (timed or untimed), a 1-mile walk and a Kids' K. Plus, there will be live music, post-run snacks, children’s activities, fundraising opportunities, a raffle, team challenges, fun costumes and more. All proceeds are donated to Caritas of Austin.
3. The Suffers at Scoot Inn

Celebrate the holiday lighting of downtown Buda family style with this event featuring lots of hot chocolate. Bring your own mug or purchase a commemorative mug to build your favorite hot cocoa at various businesses, including Buda's Red Door, Little Bluebird and the Carrington. Go from store to store sampling each one, and vote on the best one. At 6:15 p.m., head to the big tree in the center of town to help Santa count down to holiday lights.
