City of Austin, Scoremore to host free session with Rap-A-Lot’s J. Prince
The City of Austin Music and Entertainment Division and Scoremore Shows will team up to present a conversation with Rap-A-Lot Records CEO and Founder J. Prince (a.k.a. James Prince) on July 18 at 6 p.m. at 3Ten.
Prince, a titan of the Texas music industry with a colorful past, has a new book called “The Art & Science of Respect” chronicling the rise of his label.
The event is part of an ongoing collaboration between Scoremore, an Austin-based concert production powerhouse, and the city music office. It is free and open to the public.
“Our goal is to support and develop all sectors and genres woven into the rich tapestry that is Austin’s music industry,” said Erica Shamaly, Music & Entertainment Division Manager. “The partnership with Scoremore has now benefitted hundreds of people in Austin, many of whom that are younger and actively engaged with growing genres and musical fusions in Austin. This event is a fantastic opportunity for providing these folks access to an industry legend to inquire, learn, and grow.”
