Hightower owners opening new restaurant in Dallas

One of Austin’s best neighborhood restaurants and a staple of our annual Austin360 Dining Guide is getting an out-of-town sibling. Chef Chad Dolezal and partner Victor Farnsworth, who opened Hightower on East Seventh Street together in 2014, are opening a restaurant in the Oak Cliff neighborhood of Dallas. Dolezal says the two restaurants won’t share a name but it will be obvious that the places are related.

I’m from Dallas, so we want this place to be a restaurant independent of the Austin spot and be in line with the neighborhood that surrounds it,” said Dolezal, who previously worked at the Argentinean steakhouse El Arbol (now Olive & June) with Farnsworth. The Dallas restaurant is slated to open fall 2019.

The Hightower, which has made its name based on thoughtful and comforting dishes served in a laid-back setting in East Austin, will continue to operate under the day-to-day guidance of Farnsworth and veteran Hightower sous chef Adam Krieg.
