Want to make sure you keep your New Year’s resolutions? Austin’s a great place for that.
If you live in Austin and you’ve made a resolution to better yourself in the new year, you’re already off to a great start.
According to WalletHub, Austin’s the ninth best city in the United States to meet your goals. To determine the ranking, WalletHub looked at factors like gyms per capita, income growth, job opportunities, percentage of obese adults, smoking rate and other financial and health metrics.
You’re especially in luck if you have school- or work-related New Year’s resolutions -- Austin’s the third best city for keeping those, according to the study. You’re not as lucky if you’ve got resolutions related to finance or kicking bad habits -- we ranked 60th and 57th, respectively.
According to a new poll, the most popular resolution surprisingly doesn’t have anything to do with finance, school, work or bad habits. It’s a little more nuanced (and heartwarming) than that: 12 percent of Americans say they just want to be a better person in 2018.
