Weekend music picks: Celebrate Dudley & Bob’s 25th; party with Blondie
Friday: Blondie, Garbage at ACL Live. More than 40 years after Debbie Harry’s new wave, pop-punk outfit dropped their self-titled debut, Blondie is still going strong. Their latest album, “Pollinator,” includes collaborations with current pop sensations Sia and Charli XCX, alt-R&B artist Dev Hynes of Blood Orange, and the Smiths’ Johnny Marr. The tour, aptly named “Rage and Rapture,” pairs Blondie with another female-fronted powerhouse, Garbage, who handily sold out Stubb’s when they were in town for their “20 Years Queer” tour in 2015. $89-$135. 7 p.m. — D.S.S.
Saturday: Dudley & Bob 25th anniversary at Paramount. KLBJ-FM is celebrating a quarter-century with the on-air dynamic duo of Dale Dudley and Bob Fonseca by throwing a bash curated by their colleague Matt Bearden. The evening will include musical performances by Bob Schneider, Bruce Robison and Kelly Willis, Charlie Sexton, Johnny Goudie and Benjamin Hotchkiss, and Scrappy Jud Newcomb, plus comedy from Mike Macrae, Chris Cubas and Martha Kelly. $25-$75. 8 p.m. 713 Congress Ave. austintheatre.org. — P.B.
