Sure, the June edition of Bud Light’s Summer Live Series was awesome. Sure, it was particularly fun to hang with fellow live music lovers, people who enjoy cold drinks on a hot summer night and making new friends in real life. Sure, I geeked out at the armadillo races repeatedly. But that was only the beginning! This free summer concert series, officially known as the Bud Light Summer Live Series, promises three free (must be 21 or older to attend, and must pre-register via SummerLiveSeries. com) live music adventures taking place in the parking lot and warehouse here at the Austin American- Statesman. What’s not to love?

I was excited just looking at the original plans… but in real life, the people, the attractions and the bands that rocked the June edition (I’m looking at you Texas Gentlemen and Dawes) were so much more than I expected. There’s something about live music that makes the magic happen.

For the July installment, Bud Light Austin is turning up the heat (pardon pun) as they’ve booked Black Joe Lewis with special guest Medicine Man Revival opening. Hence the title of my write-up. It is going to be a glorious event all over again indeed.

If you’ve already registered, good job you! Arrive early to be leisurely about making new friends, the food trucks and exploring the warehouse converted to an only-in-Austin- concert venue and all. The bats are flying out from the Congress bridge at dusk these days. Basically, there’s a lot to do and see. Pace yourself.

Medicine Man Revival will kick things off. Black Joe Lewis headlines and will bring our warehouse down in the best way. Gentle reader, I feel you either are already completely overjoyed at reading this line up or you are reaching for your phone to have a listen… in which case you are mere seconds away from big happy feels. Good stuff either way!

Speaking of good stuff; headliner Black Joe Lewis has selected the Austin Federation of Musicians as his local charity of choice. As such, a portion of the funds raised during the July edition of the Summer Live Series will go to the Austin Federation of Musicians.

Additionally, Bud Light Austin has partnered with local rideshare partner, RideAustin, and of course TicketCity (who also co-sponsors the Austin360 Studio Sessions with Bud Light) to support local businesses and attending guests alike. If you’re not already registered for tomorrow’s event, unfortunately it’s too late. You’re going to have to sit this one out. You can scout #SummerLiveSeries to see what goes on. Register for August’s installment, the final of the three free Summer Live Series concerts, at SummerLiveSeries.com. Final date and artists are to be announced.

Meanwhile, if you’d like to connect, please come up and say hello. I like making new friends. You can find me “sampling” (read: I want a bite of EVERYTHING) every food truck, developing my skills as an armadillo race jockey (Is that a thing? That needs to be a thing… shout out to Kaitlin Piraro for her inspiring win at the June event) and then cheering for the musical guests until I sound like Aunt Selma from the Simpsons.

Like I said, it’s going to be glorious. 5pm = Happy Hour with food options in the parking lot. 7pm = Doors Open to the warehouse concert space. 8pm = Live music begins. All here at 305 South Congress Ave., Austin, TX, 78704. Pre-registration required. You must be a minimum of 21 years of age to attend.
