Lauren Petrowski is new Fox 7 weekend anchor

Lauren Petrowski has been promoted to weekend news anchor at KTBC.

Petrowski, who joined Fox 7 six years ago after working for a Corpus Christi TV station, begins her new gig this weekend, a spokeswoman said.

The University of Texas graduate had been one of a handful of reporters filling in on weekends in recent weeks after longtime anchor Jenni Lee and Fox 7 parted ways. Other fill-ins included reporters Noelle Newton and Daniel Armbruster.

Look for Petrowski alongside sports anchor John Hygh and meteorologist Scott Prinsen Saturdays at 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. and Sundays at 5 p.m. and 9 p.m.
