‘American Idol’ plans Austin auditions

“American Idol” is Austin bound yet again.
Launched 11 years ago, the singing competition is still going strong and on the prowl for a fresh batch of contestants for its upcoming season.
Producers will stop in Central Texas Aug. 7, holding auditions at the Frank Erwin Center on the University of Texas campus.
Auditions are open to people between the ages of 15 and 28.
