Look for a fresh new face to pop up soon on local CW affiliate KNVA.

The station recently wrapped up the search for its next CW Austin Star, selecting Annaka Chesnutt to serve as an entertainment correspondent covering buzz-worthy events around town for the next year.

Her reports will air nightly.

“Becoming the CW Star is truly an honor,” Chesnutt said. “I’m so grateful for this opportunity to deliver unique entertainment coverage to Central Texas. I look forward to highlighting the great programming the station has to offer along with the fashion, food, film and music that make Austin such a great place to live.”

Chesnutt, who attended Texas State University, beat out hundreds of other contestants to become the CW Austin Star. The multi-round competition started back in March with an open casting call at the Hill Country Galleria.

KNVA launched the annual CW Austin Star competition six years ago.
