Gannett Co., owner of Austin’s KVUE, is acquiring six Texas TV stations in an all-cash deal valued at $215 million, the company announced Wednesday.
The stations are owned by Addison-based London Broadcasting Co. and are located in Abilene, Beaumont, Corpus Christi, San Angelo, Tyler and Waco.
Federal approval is required before the acquisition can be finalized. Executives said they expect that to occur this summer.
In addition to KVUE, Gannett owns three other Texas TV stations in Dallas, Houston and San Antonio. All were acquired from Dallas-based Belo last year in a $2.2 billion deal.
