Former KVUE anchor Jessica Vess has a new gig.

Vess, who left the city’s ABC affiliate earlier this month after seven years as an anchor and reporter for the station’s morning newscasts, has been named senior public information and media coordinator for Austin Community College.

“Jessica’s extensive experience in the media will be a tremendous asset as we continue to spread the word about ACC and the ways we serve the community,” said Brette Lea, ACC’s executive director of public information and college marketing. “We are fortunate to have Jessica on our team.”

The job has hours that are more family friendly, according to Vess. She starts Monday.

“I’ve spent the past decade serving the community from a newsroom,” she said. “I’m excited to continue doing that work at ACC. The success people find here paves the way for the success they’ll have through life. Every journey is worth sharing. I can’t wait to help bring those stories to our community.”
