Wobeon world music fest which launched last year with a top notch program at the Mexican American Cultural Center will be back on September 20. The event has scaled back to a single day with a tight focus on global unity timed to coincide with the United Nation’s International Day of Peace. Headliners include roots reggae band Taj Weekes and Adowa, rhythmic Moroccan rockers Hoba Hoba Spirit and Brazilian percussionist and bandleader Dende. A host of Austin’s finest global groovers including Middle Eastern ensemble Atash and West African drum and dance troupe Bramaya provide local support.

The fest, orginally scheduled to take place at the Asian American Cultural Center in North Austin has moved downtown to Ironwood Hall on Seventh Street. More info.
