Ozzy Osbourne give Brown Sabbath stamp of approval
Turns out Central Texans aren’t the only ones who love the mind blowing, face melting metal fusion of Brown Sabbath, the Black Sabbath cover project from local cumbia funk outfit Brownout.
Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne gave the group his stamp of approval in a Boston Globe piece that ran over the weekend.
“I’ve been hearing about this band Brown Sabbath for a while now,” Osbourne told the Globe in an e-mail forwarded by a band publicist. “I was shown a video of them performing ‘The Wizard,’ and it was a lot of fun hearing it with a horn section. It was great!”
Brownout is currently touring Brown Sabbath on the East Coast. The band will be back in Texas for Utopia Fest on Sept. 12.
